Melissa Yoon, a board member for Reach A Village, experienced a dramatic change in her life after reading Radical: Taking Back Your Faith from the American Dream by David Platt (2010). She and her husband, Andrew, are committed to doing the most with every gift and resource God has given them. Their passion is to spread the Gospel to those around the world who have never heard the name of Jesus while also meeting very real physical needs. They hope that a legacy of generosity will be passed down to their children, who will become disciples who make disciples.
After a career in the public sector as a city planner, Melissa chose to become a full-time stay-at-home mom to four children (three biological and one through adoption). She and her family reside in Florida, where most of her time is devoted to educating growing children, running a real estate corporation, helping Andrew grow and expand his dental practice, and being involved in various worldwide ministries.
She is a graduate of the University of Florida with a bachelor’s degree in political science and earned her master’s degree in city and regional planning from the University of Pennsylvania. Her organizational and management skills, as well as her active faith, are definite assets for her service on Reach A Village’s Board of Directors.
