Unreached people groups make up over 42 percent of the world’s population. That’s nearly 2.9 billion lost people who will never have the opportunity to hear about how Jesus died to save them! Yet for every $100,000 Christians earn, only about $1 is given for ministry to unreached people groups. The total is only slightly more than what Americans spend on Halloween costumes for their pets!
How is this happening? Simply put, mission resources are being disproportionately used in areas where the Church is already established. For example, there are 5.5 million full-time Christian workers globally; however, less than 1 percent of these workers are ministering in unreached areas. Less than 1 percent are trying to reach nearly 2.9 billion people!
The sad truth is that the Church has approximately 9,000 times the manpower needed to finish the task of the Great Commission, but only a tiny amount of effort is invested in areas that are unreached with the Gospel.
