Before the beginning of humanity, God was, is, and forever will be. He made us in His image. Walked with us and spoke with us. Our sin separated us from Him, and He responded justly but also in love and covered our shame.
His Word was with the first family He created. They were given guidance and instruction, commanded to be fruitful, multiply, and rule. The Words of God and His creation should never be separated. His truth and way give us our very life and purpose.
Even in His last hours on the cross, our suffering Savior…pointed us to who He was. “My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?” was spoken in the local language directing them to Psalm 22:1. This Psalm proclaims God’s deliverance of His people after they cried out and trusted in Him. They were not put to shame.
The Psalm prophesied, “They pierce my hands and my feet, all my bones are on display…they divide my clothes and cast lots for my garments”. The Word predicts the graphic events of the day of the crucifixion nearly 1,000 years before it happens.
The Psalm continues, “I will declare your name to my people, in the assembly I will praise you…All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to the LORD, and all the families of the nations will bow down before him…future generations will be told about the Lord. They will proclaim his righteousness, declaring to a people yet unborn: He has done it!"
May we never forget what He has done for us! It is finished! Our sins are covered by His blood. We have faith in this final work. He has conquered death and the grave!
What a joy and privilege to know Him and be known by Him. Thank you for helping us tell His story and get His Word to the families of the nations in their local language. This Easter remember and turn to the Lord…declare His mighty Name!
Thanking the Lord for you,
Ellis Craft
