Life can fall apart in an instant. Just ask Wasita of Thailand.

“One day, I suddenly collapsed,” Wasita recalls. “A blood vessel in my brain had ruptured. In a split second, my world went black. When I woke up, I couldn't move my right arm, my right hand, my right leg. Even my mouth was frozen shut. I went from being a person who lived a normal life to a person who couldn't speak, couldn't walk, and couldn't even summon the strength to smile at myself in the mirror.”

Every day was filled with silence. Wasita lay motionless on her bed day after day, waiting for her time to die. One question repeated in her mind: “What is my worth now?”

Instead of death, God sent a ray of hope into Wasita’s life. A local ministry leader came to visit her. “The man said to me, ‘If you feel you have no way forward, Jesus will be the way for you,’” she says. “Those words shook my shattered heart.”

With the help of her new friends, Wasita went to a Bible study in her village. “Though I was weak in body and spirit, the moment I stepped inside, I was met with a love I had never known,” she says. “People who were complete strangers loved me, prayed for me, and held my hand when I couldn't say a single word. I began to pray in my heart: Jesus, if you can hear me, I want to walk again. I want to speak again. I want to know if I still have value.”

Jesus heard Wasita. Little by little, her right fingers began to move. She began to support her own weight. She started speaking, forming simple words, one at a time. “My voice wasn’t clear, but every word was a miracle,” she says. “Every step I took was a gift from God.”

Today, Wasita is walking on her own. Her right arm, leg, and hand are much stronger. “My speech still isn’t perfect, but it’s so much better,” she says. “When I look back, I still cry. I am doing what I never dreamed was possible. Physically and spiritually.”

Wasita now sings praises to God with other believers! “My voice may not be as clear as the others, but every word I sing is the sound of faith, the voice of someone who intimately knows the love and grace of Jesus Christ,” she says. “I go out to visit others with our ministry team. I get to be God’s hands in someone else’s life, even though I was once lying motionless on my bed.”

Jesus healed Wasita’s body and her broken heart. He gave her new life through her faith in Him. And she thanks Him every day for this miracle.
